Domestic violence is a leading cause of shelter entry, forcing many survivors and their children to leave unsafe homes without knowing where they will go next. Without access to safe, stable housing, survivors can face the difficult choice of remaining in an abusive situation or experiencing homelessness.

A @citylimitsnews story highlights the need for increased funding for housing vouchers for domestic violence survivors. It also emphasizes the importance of long-term, individualized support, including mental health services and housing assistance, to help survivors maintain stable housing.

As we recognize #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth, it`s important to highlight the connection between domestic violence and family homelessness. Preventing homelessness requires addressing the barriers survivors face in accessing affordable housing and ensuring they have the resources and support needed to remain safely housed.
