The New York State Assembly is considering a bill (A10156) to expand tuition assistance awards for New York students experiencing homelessness—a group that numbered more than 195,228 last school year (NYSTEACHS.org). A recent report by @childtrends_research and @randcorporation points to additional supports that students from low-income backgrounds may need to succeed in higher education.
