What does a high-quality shelter look like?

Our new report, Beyond a Place to Stay, explores what quality family shelter can look like for children and families experiencing homelessness.

While family shelters provide an essential response to immediate housing crises, they should be more than somewhere to sleep. They should be places where families can feel safe, respected, supported, connected, and ready to move forward.

Because shelter isn`t the end goal. Long-term stability is.
