Reliable childcare can be a key service allowing families experiencing homelessness to achieve housing stability.

Yet only 21% of articles in our analysis mentioned childcare in connection with family homelessness.

Without reliable childcare, maintaining employment, attending school, or securing stable housing becomes significantly more difficult.

Organizations working to support children and families, including @afcnewyork, @cccnewyork,@childrensaidnyc, and @schoolhouseconnection understand how critical these supports can be for family stability.

What gets left out of news coverage can shape what gets overlooked in policy discussions.
