New York City’s childcare crisis is driven by challenges facing its workforce. With more than 14,300 children, ages 0–5, living in NYC DHS shelters at the end of last school year, investing in early childhood educators is essential—especially as the City works to expand childcare for all.

Recruiting, training, and retaining skilled educators for our youngest New Yorkers must be a top priority.
