No child should have to live in a car. A @iamcps program, “Safe Sleep Lots,” repurposes school parking lots, providing a designated overnight area where families experiencing homelessness can safely stay in their vehicles and get connected to services. While the district should be commended for recognizing and taking action to help their students who are experiencing homeless, the situation underscores the urgent need for immediate shelter for families. This is why the work of @thenwsn and other leaders in the national space are so important. Safe shelter saves lives.
